The incidence of autism has increased
from 1 in 10,000 in the 1970s to 1 in 150 today, an increase of over 6,000% in
this time period. Many more children have been diagnosed with other
neurodevelopmental disorders considered to be on the same spectrum, including
Asperger's, ADHD/ADD, speech delay, and similar developmental delays and
learning disabilities. During
these investigations, numerous scientists from around the globe have testified
before the committee, and have presented credible peer-reviewed research studies
that indicated a direct link between the exposure of heavy metal, a widely known
neurotoxin, etc. and the increasing incidences of autism. Many doctors associated with Defeat
Autism Now! (DAN!) and lots of parents already believe that the behavioural and
cognitive symptoms of many ASD children can be noticeably improved with proper
biomedical treatments. Sometimes the improvement is dramatic enough for a child
to lose his/her ASD diagnosis .So we still have hope for our kids! We aren't
the doctors, we are only parents. But according to a Chinese proverb, diseases
can let you become a good doctor. We can certainly partner with good doctors in
support of this cause. This Green Sprouts forum
is originated by Chinese families living in overseas communities who have kids
on the autism spectrum. We would like to make a broad global
appeal for an effective, unified response to the autism epidemic, to find a
nurturing environment for our kids and to identify the right biomedical
interventions. We welcome professionals and other
parents to actively participate at our website.
